Dr. Sriram Devanathan highlighted how Amrita University has adopted a holistic approach with an emphasis on sustainability and on instilling both vital skills and human values in the students, to prepare them for their 21st century careers. Values, skills and attitudes developed during university proving to be at least as important as the academic learning.

This Amrita culture has led to securing nearly 100% job placements for its graduates! Amrita’s culture is, on one hand teaching up-to-date skills and imparting knowledge, and in parallel imparting life values.

That sensitizes students to take their future money-earning jobs and societal benefit into joint account, and to want to serve society and the planet in order to preserve resources and ensure a livable environment for future generations.

The TV episode was the result of a joint effort between the “Republic Media Network” and Amrita University’s School of Engineering, and looks at aspects of education that need to be reviewed in order to catch-up with the constantly evolving job sphere.

The discussions tackled the changes that academic institutions need to make to ensure that they do not fall behind time, and how to properly prepare students for the evolving fields of engineering.
